Angels
Question (Edited):
There is a debate going on between me and another friend. This friend claims
that angels do NOT have wings. I say that they do. What do you say? Since
you do communicate with Angels, and I would like your opinion. Thank you
for your time.
Answer:
Spirit appears to each individual as they will best comprehend. When the
prophets describe the Cherubim & Seraphim, ranks of higher Angels, they
are often depicted as "Terrifying" with hundreds of eyes &
yes, wings etc. Then you have classic & contemporary depiction of cherubs
i.e. cherubim as babies in diapers with, yet again, wings. Are any of these
accurate? It depends on the observers. Ultimately the Angelic Hosts are
not physical. They are Spirit, Energy & express in a solid form only
as occasion rises. I personally have seen Angels look just like humans,
no wings to be seen & I've seen a roomful of wings when the Hosts show
themselves to me in a reading. Yet, ask a light worker who sees energy fields
& the heart chakra can manifest huge pools of energy out its back, looking
like wings. So bottom line, there is no definitive answer as to what Angels
look like. Ask to be shown & see what you see.

Prosperity
Question: (edited)
I was at one of your Prosperity seminars and I thank you for your words. They touched me and it seems I remember something different you said everyday! I wanted to say thanks and ask you if you had any words of advice for me! I am planning on opening my own store. Right now it is an idea (which is forming rapidly) and I am trying hard to make it actually happen by April, 2003.
I have been at my banking job for 14 years, which I feel is sucking the spirit, creativity and beauty out of my heart each day! Sounds dramatic, huh? I say that because I use to be an artist...singer, writer, drawer...I do none of that now, and I am afraid I am loosing who I am.
This store is the last creative outlet I think I may have! I want to incorporate a "New Age"(?!) store with my love of herbs and have a huge herb garden in the back that my customers can enjoy and learn from, etc, etc)
Do you have any words of advice, any friendly suggestions? I am feeling so desperate to know that I am on the right track! I am the major bread winner of my family and I have three kids. I can't afford to be frivoulous!
Anything you could say, may help me tremendoulsy!!
Answer:
Hi, Thank you for your encouraging words. You just helped confirm to me
that I'm on the right track. So you've already given that which you seek
to receive.
Ok, yeah, I hear where you are. Its a leap, but one that shouldn't be taken lightly. I will say that I feel a wave of Witch Stores are cropping up everywhere. Make sure the area you are located in is semi witch dense, otherwise you may need to feel your audience for a bit, do "other" stuff at first. A Trip to WitchVox will help that out. Having 6 months rent saved/invested helps too.
Many people are opening stores to help the Pagan community grow, That alone is something the Gods are going to help support. But I will tell you flat out. Its not necessarily easier than the job you are in now.
Everybody almost gives up a few times. In our 1st 6 months we almost folded, were it not for the Magick & Miracle of Amy's Love & her Borders' stock options to keep us afloat. A month later we got a 5 page article done about us in the big LI wide paper. We didn't even ask for it. It hit like a thunderbolt & changed everything.
Will you have to work something on the side? Probably, I had to. I worked in a Garden Botanika for a year & 1/2. Imagine, me selling facial supplies, HEAVEN! My pores were never so tight.
It was only supposed to be Holiday Help, but they wouldn't let me leave. So, I did both for a while, scheduling readings & classes when I wasn't working my "Other Job." There's no shame in it, especially if there are other mouths to feed.
Everybody's path is different. Hang in there & look for signs both inside & outside of yourself. If you are a Witch, there are magickal as well as financial/physical tests.
At Yule, really kick it off with some serious Magick. If you launch by Ostara, that's a pretty doable window. But expect to learn how to surf! This means, the known becomes unknown. The firm ground beneath turns into metaphoric water & you have to surf & swim your way there.
FAITH my dear.
If the Gods want this for you, you can only grow & "Become" as a result.
Is that what they want for you? I don't know...Ask them.

Question (edited):
This is from yesterday's reading. I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Is this normal after a reading? Is there a time frame for my job position to change? Because I'm ready to quit very soon, or is there something I'm supposed to learn from this?
Answer:
Hi Bob. For starters, readings usually initiate change. That's the idea, you get clarity about the present moment & then you start to transform.
My sense is that these feelings are not new that you are having, but the reading brought them into the forefront so you could really feel them. Feel them fully & they will pass, but I do not suggest making any drastic moves until the storm has passed.
Oftentimes the clarity that comes after an emotional storm holds the wisdom we need. Acting during the emotions can lead to hasty & ill-considered actions which we usually regret.
I know this may sound strange, but you're doing great. Having feelings come up is part of the process. Solitude is important for you. The more you can acknowledge what's going on inside of you with honest introspection, the more freedom you will feel when those feelings lift. THEN, you'll know what to do. Both feet planted on the ground & with a clear head, you'll heart will tell you which direction to follow.
Remember, all things worth doing are worth the challenge that precedes them. If you are meant to create a new position within the company you are with, or start your own, this "emotional death" phase you're in surely precedes the rebirth of inspiration & new direction. I know you'll make the right decision.

Spirituality
Question (edited):
I was writing you because of how interesting I found the reading (you gave me) as well as to try & figure out why so many things were touched on in such a way that were very um...I guess...practical or delicate or something of the sort.
I think that I may not have been as open as I had wanted to, or feel as if there is something that is holding me back from being spiritually open to receive energy from other people and things around me. I know that you said it was based on self-esteem for me, and I really do see that.
It seems that this is like a viscous circle that makes me feel all insecure so I don't do things that I want to do. Then I feel like whatever I do, I am not the person who I should be, because I passed up so many opportunities. I am very out of place because I don't feel comfortable with myself and thus don't want to involve myself in anything.
When you said that you found it surprising that I didn't get a card that said anything about my spirituality..do you think that was because I was blocking too much or not letting you get too close to my thoughts and feelings, or maybe its just not developed or being tapped into because I give up so many opportunities to get in touch with spirit?
sincerely, Marisa
Answer:
Hi, I guess I should explain a few things about what readings are like for me. When I give a reading, I go with what spirit shows me. Not everyone gets a star spangled banner of a reading complete with numerous spirit guides & prophecy. The idea is that spirit focuses on where the client needs work most. I don't think getting a "mundane or practical" reading makes you unspiritual. In fact, most spiritual people need more help with the mundane than the astral / etheric stuff.
Most important, Spirit never stops giving us opportunities to grow. Sometimes it brings us things that don't feel right, just so we learn to say no. Self-esteem is, at core, about knowing who you TRULY are. Not what you look like, or what you do for a living, or what your last name is, but who your true spiritual essence is. Bottom line, we are all the children of God/ Goddess/the Universe. By focusing on & real-izing that identity, self esteem issues tend to evaporate like fog in the sunlight.
Spirituality regardless of the outer form is about inner process. Find a path that leads you into yourself & the rest will unfold as needed. OK? Blessings, Mark A. Lyons
Healing
Question:
I'm looking for "something" to do for my Mom. She has cancer, she's in pain from an intestinal by-pass. Colon cancer spread to her back (in the bones). I'd like to do something to help her get better, or feel better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Answer:
Hello! Colon Cancer is a metaphoric symbol of the inability to let go on some level, usually emotionally. Pain is always resistance to something. Now, I could easily leave it at that & say that to the extent she lets go of the past (especially because its in her back) that the pain will release, but that in itself may take a lot of time.
Release takes time because it sometimes took us years to build up the back log of emotions & experiences that we are either afraid to experience (repression) or afraid to let go of (fear of loss). For her physical pain I really suggest colon hydrotherapy, I know of an excellent therapist in Copaigue. She may need to ask her doctor about this mode of therapy before proceeding & may even need to get something written from him saying its OK. If that is a venue she'd be interested in pursuing let me know & I'll get you in touch with Lisa in Copaigue.
Controlling the pain through medications is a short term suggestion, but I certainly can't prescribe anything like that, only her doctor can. Besides, spiritually speaking it just prolongs the work that eventually needs to be done.
Yet, drugs can take the edge off of pain so that she can hear the subtle voice of the emotion underneath the physical pain. What is the underlying feeling? Are abandonment, lack of support &/or fear of loss recurring patterns for your Mom? If so, a regimen of forgiveness & emotional processing will improve her quality of emotional/mental health, which, following the holistic model, would in turn improve the quality of her physical health.
Lastly, lets just look at plain old prayer. If your Mom is Christian, you could always turn to Mother Mary & the Saints. There are several Novenas (9 day prayers) that focus on physical healing & can be found by surfing through www.catholic.org. You can also find novena candles she can burn to help her focus the prayer. Miracles do happen, but she'll have to do her end of it too. Reiki (Tibetan hands on healing system) may help, but it may also bring up her issues to be dealt with.
Please reply with your mom's name & birthdate. We'll put her in our healing can & pray for her at the Council of One that meets on Wednesday nights.
I do hope this helps. Keep in touch. In Love & Oneness Mark A. Lyons
